ELECTRICAL, COMPUTER, AND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING SOCIETY

We are here to ensure that your trip through Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering is not a boring one! Through events like the Robotics Competition, and our annual banquet, we aim to give you fun memories and chances to get to know your fellow classmates. As soon as you are registered in any of the above departments, you immediately are part of ECSES, which also in turn makes you part of the UNB Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS).

UNB STUDENT SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS

The Student Society for Mechanical Engineers (SSME) represents the undergraduate mechanical engineering student body. We do this in a variety of forms, such as social events, academic support, linking the undergraduate students to the faculty, and student representation.

We have several keystone events associated with our organization, such as the annual UNB Coaster Derby, Mechanical Engineering Graduate Banquet, Faculty BBQs, Dooly’s nights, Merchandise Orders, March Break Trips, Paintballing, and many more engaging events!

The SSME’s home base is located in room E43, an inclusive space devoted to mechanical engineering students for collaborating and gathering outside of class time. Within the lounge, there are large tables for studying, computers for working, and couches for relaxing. We are the ones responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the room and take great pride in the atmosphere and function that it offers!

Keep posted to our Instagram and Facebook pages to stay updated on the latest SSME events and activities! We will have many exciting opportunities on the go for the 2022-2023 academic year!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our society’s general email (ssme@unb.ca), or our president Thomas Hogan’s personal email (thomas.hogan@unb.ca).

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE SOCIETY

The Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Society (ChEUS) is the UNB student chapter of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE). The ChEUS advocates for undergraduate ChE students and is the liaison between the students and the faculty.

The society aims to foster a welcoming and fun environment for all ChE students through various social events and traditional events like Pulse's Birthday (attend the event to get to know Pulse!), provide academic support through tutoring sessions, and other activities within the faculty. Make sure to follow and connect with us through our Instagram or Facebook account.

CIVIL ENGINEERING SOCIETY

The CSCE UNB Student Chapter (The Civil Engineering Undergraduate Society) works in coordination with the Canadian society of civil engineers to maintain a high standard of civil engineering practice in Canada. We host events, such as lunch and learns, trivia nights and bbqs to increase moral within the civil engineering discipline.

GEOMATICS UNDERGRADUATE ENGINEERING STUDENT SOCIETY

GUESS plays a crucial role in the GGE department. We serve as the voice of the students in the department, providing direct feedback to faculty about courses and the program as a whole and ensuring the funding received by the department goes to items the students want and need. We also aim to give students a break from their studying by hosting monthly events, which have ranged from a Bob Ross Painting night to an evening of curling to a weekend ski trip in Quebec! We operate a merch store every year to provide the students and faculty an opportunity to wear some of the best swag in UNB.

GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING SOCIETY

The UNB Geological Engineering Society (GES) is a student-run group that exists to connect interested and like-minded students while expanding their networks within UNB's geology and engineering spaces. The society is strongly connected with the Geology Department's Bailey Society with whom fun events, study sessions and hangouts are planned. Everyone that is involved in or interested in geological engineering is welcome!
