EUS Events

  • During shadow day, we invite students from multiple different high school to come visit Head Hall and give them an insight on our Engineering Program at UNB. The EUS helps with the organisation for this event along with the faculty of Engineering to make it successful.

Anybody in engineering is welcomed to volunteer during this event to help us direct the high school students through Head Hall and to answer their questions.

  • Right before exam week, the EUS organises events to help engineering students feel less stressed out during that period of the year.

Our goal is to ensure that we have resources available to help students better manage stress through this challenging time. Some examples of these resources can be having therapy dogs over for petting, crafts events, bringing food in the office, offering sessions that explain how to use different tools to better manage your workload and much more. If you ever think of an idea that would help you manage stress better you are always able to contact us and who knows maybe your idea will happen.

  • The Iron Pin Ceremony is an event focused on acknowledging the engineering code of ethics and celebrating the obligation to uphold the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility in the engineering profession.

At the ceremony each student will be given an Iron Pin to serve as a reminder to follow and uphold these values throughout their degree and as they continue into the workforce. A guest speaker will also highlight what it means to uphold the engineering code of ethics and speak about their journey in engineering.

This event is a great opportunity to learn more about what it means to be in the engineering profession and the responsibility that comes with being an engineer. We hope to see you all there!

  • The iron ring after party is a party organised to celebrate the success of our graduating students. During this event students will be able to dance, enjoy some delicious snacks, sing away to your favourite songs and commemorate their success.

  • Transition day is a major key to help Saint John students successfully transfer to UNB Fredericton when fall comes around the corner. Through this day, Saint John students will have the opportunity to speak with their new academic advisor, faculty, professors and students from Fredericton too. This day is an important key that facilitates Saint John students to feel comfortable at UNB Fredericton. This day is filled with information about the rest of their program, a tour of head hall and talks from different ressources. The co-op office does a presentation to talk about their program and the benefits of it. A TME presentation is usually followed right after to introduce Saint John students to a useful diploma that you can obtain with your bachelor of engineering.

This event is guided by the EUS and the faculty of engineering to make it successful, beneficial and informative.

  • ENGG Week is a week filled with multiple fun events. Through this week we have a skate night where all the engineering students meet to enjoy a fun ice skate session. We also hold our popular ski night at Crabbe Mountain where you will be driven up there in a bus and have your fees covered to be able to try out skiing!

Following up these events, we will host our annual engg banquet filled with food, activities, special guests and a night that you will remember.

  • During Pi Day, we gather to pi students and bid to pi professors. The student with the highest bid will have the opportunity to pi the professor in their face with an aluminium plate filled of whip cream. During this event there will also be multiple delicious pies for you to enjoy and eat while students and professors get pi in the face with whip cream on a plate. All profit made during this event will go towards a charity that the EUS gets to select to help an organisation!
